It is a joy to be working full time in a business that I am so passionate about. My specialties are old-fashioned desserts and meals that taste like Grandma made them. And my Grandmother Anna Luckenbach is my longtime source and motivation for amazing desserts and meals. My favorite comment is “Wow this tastes like my Grandmother's cooking/baking”.
I believe in preparing my dishes with the "Changing Seasons" as my inspiration. But I have been known to “cheat” and throw a fresh Raspberry on top of a Ganache Cake or at the center of my Pineapple Upside down cakes in the Winter months. (I prepare my cakes with fresh Pineapple rings). All my desserts are made with the freshest ingredients I can find. I buy local from farmers as much as I can.
I make everything with Love. My intention is that you will swoon over everything I bake and cook for you. If not I will gladly credit you for another item to try.
I am currently baking out of my certified kitchen in Harrisonburg.
Look for Moonflower Baking at the Harrisonburg Farmer's Market, Saturday and Tuesday from 7AM-1PM and starting June 3rd Thursdays from 4PM-7PM.I welcome special orders and would love to hear your ideas on what you would love to see featured in upcoming months.
Please sign up for my weekly newsletter to see what specials I am offering to those on my email list.
One of the goals I have is to write a cookbook. Many have asked for my recipes for one treat or another. It's in the works. My cookbook will be called "Moonflower Madness...A Memoir". It will include stories, seasonal menus and all those recipes you have asked for. I hope to have it ready by December of 2011. Sooooo from now until then I will be including a weekly seasonal menu in my newsletter. You will also be receiving a recipe of the month beginning in August.
Thanks to everyone for being such enthusiastic supporters and tasters.
