Dearest Moonflower Friends, Family, Fans,
Do what you Love the Money will follow is a saying I have heard for years. How lucky for me to have had this magnificent opportunity to put forth all my love and passion with Moonflower and the Farmers Market. Unfortunately on this day "the Money" has not quite materialized at the same pace the bills have. After much deliberation I asked my brother Don for his input. He has also been a very big fan and supporter. I promptly sent him all my 2010 spreadsheets and financials. It did not take him long to respond, "Sis, you need a real job with real money! I am proud of you but you need to take care of first things first". That same night I updated my resume and sent it to Home Depot in response to a help want ad for an outside sales rep. Within a week I had an interview and yesterday was officially hired! I have to say I am very flattered to be hired so quickly and excited about the thought of paying my bills on time again. So for now I will put Moonflower on hold while I learn the ropes of my new adventure. I will be working out of the Harrisonburg and Waynesboro stores as my home base and selling Roofing, Siding, Insulation, Windows, and Gutters to home owners. I have a fantastic territory that reaches approximately an hour in each direction from these locations.
Before Moonflower I traveled to Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC, all of Virginia and West Virginia. So this new territory is really a slice of Heaven. Part of my job will be to wear the bright orange Home Depot apron while I am out on sales calls.
I was sharing this info with my Mom feeling dismay over my new uniform. But my Mom is always quick to cheer and exuberantly exclaimed, "Oh, you get to be like Pamela Anderson...your a "Tool Time" girl!". So, that's me...the Harrisonburg Tool Time girl for Home Depot!
You have not seen the last of Moonflower. I am still open to a Spring/Summer season but will take it one step at a time. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in special order cakes or projects. I love shopping at the Farmers Market so you will still see me on most Saturdays.
